JOB SUMMARY: The Driver is responsible for gathering materials, loading, delivering and unloading product(s) and ensuring customers are satisfied with product(s) and that they complete delivery paperwork.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The responsibilities listed are fundamental to the position and must be performed successfully to achieve the key performance objectives of the role.  Other responsibilities may be assigned.

  • Carry yourself in a professional, respectful manner at all times
  • Reviews daily delivery route, inquires about any special
  • Carries out pre-trip and post-trip inspections of truck and reports any concerns or maintenance needs. Confirms stability of load throughout route
  • Delivers product(s) to specified customer areas utilizing dollies, hand jacks, skids, etc.
  • Communicates with dispatcher. Records time on phone upon arriving/leaving stops
  • Provides customers with invoices to review, obtains appropriate signatures and retrieves approved documentation. Notes time and temperature and adds personal signature on invoice.
  • Submits daily paperwork
  • Operates vehicle safely and obeys traffic laws, and follows established traffic and transportation procedures
  • Attends semi-annual driver safety meetings

 Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

This position requires the employee to communicate verbally and in writing, hear at conversational level, use vision for depth perception and to distinguish basic shades and colors, use both hands and legs and operate a truck or motor vehicle.

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent, will frequently be required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, pull 200 lbs. for 40 feet, push 200 lbs. for 30 feet, lift 35-50 lbs., twist at the waist while rotating and perform repetitive movements with fingers.  The incumbent will continuously be required to lift 10-35 lbs., operate hand and foot controls, twist and bend wrists repeatedly and repeatedly apply gripping pressure with hands.

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

The employee will be required to work indoors and outdoors, alone, in temperatures below 55 degrees and wear safety shoes/boots.  The employee will frequently be required to wear gloves, work around moving vehicles and occasionally work in extreme temperatures. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-year minimum work history satisfactorily performing the skills listed above.
  • Ability to interpret and carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure; calculate formulas
  • Ability to read manuals and reports, workplace rules and procedures; speak with poise and confidence, using correct English.
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License
  • Possess or obtain a Medical Examiner’s certificate as dictated by FMCSR (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) to determine fitness for operating a CMV
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Have a basic knowledge of your vehicle
